Iowa Hawkeyes Football

Iowa Hawkeyes Football

The University of Iowa’s Hawkeyes football program was officially created in 1889. They were invited to join the Big Ten Conference (at the time, it was known as the Western Conference) in 1899. Since then, the Hawkeyes football team has served as the home for a number of pivotal players and coaches. The team has participated in a large number of Bowl games and championship events. They’ve also seen dozens of players inducted into the University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame, State of Iowa Sports Hall of Fame, College Football Hall of Fame, and Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Below, we’ll provide an overview of some important players and coaches that played a key role in the Hawkeyes’ success. We’ll also take a look at former Hawkeyes currently in the NFL.
