The Bluejays compete in the Missouri Valley Conference. They currently field 6 men’s sports teams, including basketball, baseball, cross country, tennis, golf, and soccer. Ed Servais, as head coach, has guided the Bluejays men’s baseball team for the past five years. In that time, the club has collected an impressive win-loss record of 158-76. Much of that success is due to Servais’s leadership; he was recently named the NCAA Division I-AA Coach of the Year. In truth, the Creighton Bluejays’ baseball team had proven their mettle long before Servais’s arrival.
In 1991, they battled their way through the University of Hawaii to advance to the College World Series. Though they didn’t emerge as champions, they exceeded expectations, rising from a seventh seed to place third in the series, beating second-seeded Clemson University along the way.
The Creighton Bluejays men’s basketball team has a long history that dates to the early 1900s. The club holds 13 Missouri Valley Conference Championship titles and 10 Tournament titles. Over the decades, their ranks have included a number of high-profile players, such as Paul Silas, Rodney Buford, and Anthony Tolliver.
